Editorial Critique: $197
An editor will review your manuscript, providing feedback that will allow you to update your script and have the knowledge that your book is up to the standards of any traditionally published work.
The editor will provide additional recommendations with regard to the level of edit that the manuscript could benefit from; proofread, copyedit, or substantial edit. These services truly add a professional touch to your manuscript.
Remember, that everything our editors recommend are based solely upon their opinions and expertise—you may follow their comments to the letter, incorporate some, or reject them all. It’s your work and your decision.
Copy Edit: 2 cents per word
Copyediting is one of the most important services that can be utilized. Copyediting takes your book to the next level and adds an industry standard appearance to the content. Keep in mind, even the best copyeditor may miss a few things, so it is important that you give your manuscript a careful read after copyedit as well.
In addition to what is required to be done in proofreading, this covers more detail, like eliminating wordiness, repetition, making suggestions to improve clarity and quality of language, making formatting consistent, and correcting inconsistencies on a larger scale. Consistency is the major goal!
The editor queries the author, work is suggested by the editor, with major rewriting performed by the author and minor rewording completed by the editor.
Please Note: Copyedit does not include Scripture or endnote checks, nor checking the accuracy of Greek, Hebrew, or any other foreign language text. Author is responsible for checking the accuracy of all Scripture verses, endnotes, and foreign language text before submission.
Proofread: 1 cent per word
For your book to be read and understood, you need to ensure that you use clear and correct language. Incorrect grammar and punctuation, pesky typos, and spelling mistakes can detract from the overall purpose of your book.
Proofreading covers the basics: spelling, grammatical usage, composition, and minor inconsistencies. Essentially, this means finding the mistake so you are not embarrassed.
Transcription: $1.50 per minute
Recorded messages submitted are transcribed to a Word document. No editing provided at this stage. Media supported: cassettes, cds, .mp3, .wav, DVDs, and VHS.
Data Entry: $2 per page
Printed, written, or typed text (on paper) is entered into a Word document and sent to you for review and comparison to your original notes. No editing is done at this stage, but additional editorial services may be purchased.
Marketing Cover Copy: $97
The cover of your book is one of the most important sales tools you have to “hook” potential buyers. The words used on the cover of a book are the keys to closing your sale. Our marketing staff will provide complete development and writing services for both your back cover copy and your author biography.
Copyright Package: $197
We offer the service of registering your book with the United States Copyright Office in your name. Our staff will fill out the necessary forms through the Library of Congress. We will mail in the copies of your work along with the filing fee. Our staff is on hand to alleviate any concerns you have with the process.
Advance Cover Upgrade: $397
Drawing attention to your book is important in a world filled with printed products. With a beautifully executed cover you can tell the world what your content is all about, convey excellence and at the same time make your product stand out. Your cover is your "first impression" because it is what customers see first. With this upgrade you will receive a fully custom cover. We will incorporate as many images and effects necessary. The upgrade includes the original design with one round of changes. Additional rounds of changes will be billed at $47 per hour.
Advanced Interior Upgrade: $4.00 per page
This can be a fully custom interior design and typeset. If you want borders on each page, extensive graphics, pictures, illustrations, or quote boxes reflecting quotes from the text, then this is the option for you.
SEO Press Releases: $197
We will draft a press release for you based on an interview. We will make sure the press release is written in a way that optimizes its content for internet search engines. Our press releases usually show up in the top 5 positions on internet search engines. In addition to all the major search engines, your press release will be sent to 8000 journalists and 700 newsrooms.
Key Bookseller Account Promotion: $497
Although the base package sets your book up for availability through bookstores, it doesn’t ask them to put it on their shelves. With this program, we will contact the decision makers at all the major bookstore chains and introduce them to your book. We will send them a sample of the book and follow up with requests for them to order the book for their shelves. This will include Barnes and Noble, Books A Million, Borders, Hastings, and many more.
World Wide Rights Promotion: $497
Across the globe there are hundreds of publishers that are looking for books published in the United States that they can distribute or translate and publish for their local markets. We will present your book to more than 50 different international publishers and distributors with proactive follow up. You will be able to accept or reject offers made and we will pay you 50% of the net income generated.
Children’s Book Illustration: $99 per illustrated page
One of our professional illustrators will work with you to develop characters to illustrate your book. Once you approve an initial sketch, the illustrator will convert the sketch to a digital file and incorporate color and submit to you for your final approval.
Scanning: $25 per image
We will convert any item to provide us with to a high resolution digital file that can be inserted into the text or cover design of your book.
Author Identity Package: $297
Our designer will work with you to create a custom logo, business card, letterhead, and envelope design.
Web design: $997
We will produce a custom website for you with your own unique domain name. This price includes 5 pages of text and pictures provided by you. We can also provide you with a quote on special features including, flash, video, podcasts, and more.

My practice as a writing coach draws on 25 years’ experience helping professionals write books and articles. My specialties include working with new authors who want to write, and helping new writers overcome writing blocks.
During that time I’ve worked with nonfiction and fiction writers, coaching them to discover and write what matters most to them and editing their work. I was managing editor and a features editor of the Family Therapy Networker (now the Psychotherapy Networker), the leading magazine for mental health professionals. During my tenure as managing editor, the Networker twice won the prestigious National Magazine Award, for Best Feature Writing and for General Excellence.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a minor in English, I studied at the Graduate School of Publications at George Washington University. In 2001, I completed coaching training with the Institute for Life Coach Training.
